๐ŸŒฟ Learning EMS Through Real Experience

Manzolwandle Primary School proudly celebrates the success of the first day of our Grade 7 EMS Market Day, held on Friday, 28 August 2026. The activity forms part of the learners’ Term 3 Economic and Management Sciences project and gives them an opportunity to experience what it is like to plan, organise and operate a small business.

โœจ A wonderful achievement: Every one of the four groups that traded today made a profit. This means that Day 1 ended with a 100% success rate for our participating mini businesses.

๐ŸŒธ Meet Our Day 1 Entrepreneurs

Each learner team worked together to prepare products, attract customers, manage sales and put their EMS knowledge into practice. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit could be seen throughout the school.

๐ŸŒฑ More Than Just a Market Day

While the school community enjoyed the food, products, excitement and atmosphere of Market Day, the most important achievement was the learning taking place. Learners were able to experience important EMS concepts in a practical and memorable way.

๐Ÿ’ผ
Entrepreneurship Learners experienced what it takes to operate a small business.
๐Ÿค
Teamwork Groups planned, prepared, shared responsibilities and worked towards a common goal.
๐Ÿ’ฐ
Profit & Money Learners experienced sales, income, costs and the importance of making a profit.
๐Ÿ“ฃ
Marketing Teams learned how presentation, promotion and customer interest influence sales.
๐Ÿง
Problem Solving Learners had to think, adapt and make decisions in a real trading environment.
๐Ÿ˜Š
Learning With Joy Learners were happy, engaged and able to learn EMS while enjoying the experience.

๐ŸŒป A Whole-School Celebration

The success of the day was made even more special by the tremendous support shown by the rest of the school. Learners and staff came out to support the Grade 7 businesses, purchase their products and enjoy the Market Day atmosphere.

There was excitement throughout the school as our young entrepreneurs proudly served customers and watched their planning turn into real results. It was encouraging to see learners enjoying themselves while at the same time developing important skills that they can carry with them beyond the classroom.

๐Ÿ’š Thank You for Making Day 1 Possible

Manzolwandle Primary School sincerely appreciates the hard work and commitment shown by all participating Grade 7 learners. We congratulate the team leaders who took responsibility for guiding their groups and the supervising teachers who supported the learners throughout their preparation and trading.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our parents and families. Your contributions, encouragement and support helped the learners obtain what they needed to prepare their stores and made this practical learning opportunity possible.

Thank you as well to every learner, educator and member of the school community who supported the stores today. Every purchase, word of encouragement and helping hand contributed to the success of our young entrepreneurs.

๐ŸŒธ Day 1 was a success โ€” and this is only the beginning. We look forward to the remaining three Market Days and to seeing more of our Grade 7 entrepreneurs put their EMS knowledge into action.
